Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a scarce circa early 1950s pilot hat badge 4th Issue Type I for Braniff Airways. The badge is maker-marked on reverse and has nice red and blue enameled details and bullion embroidery.

VINTAGE:

Circa early 1950s.

SIZE:

Approximately 2" in height by 3" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Wool, gold bullion embroidery, mesh backing, gilt brass, enamel.

ATTACHMENT:

Single screw post with disc backing, two stabilization posts.

MARKINGS:

(Star mark) ENG CO.
