Description
This is an early 1950s Mid-Continent Airlines senior pilot wing. The wing has a star at top (denoting a senior pilot), and reads MID-CONTINENT AIRLINES, showing a winged Native American at center drawing a bow and arrow. Mid-Continent Airlines was established in 1928 in Iowa, but became part of Braniff Airlines in 1952.
VINTAGE:Circa early 1950s.
SIZE:1" height and 3-13/16" width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Sterling silver with multi-colored enamel oval lozenge.
ATTACHMENT:Two pins, each with a clutch-back catch.
MARKINGS:STERLING on reverse of wing; BALLOU REG'D on catches.

CONDITION:8+ (Excellent): Wing shows very light wear and has a wonderful coloration.
