ARTIFACT:

This is an early Korean War-era Japanese-made jacket patch for the United States Navy VP-45 patrol squadron. The patch shows a pelican with two bombs under his wings zeroing in on a submarine periscope. Patch reads VP45.

VINTAGE:

Circa early 1950s.

SIZE:

4-3/4" diameter.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Fully embroidered patch with multi-colored cotton threads.
