This is a distinctive insignia by S. E. Eby for the United States Army 213th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battalion. The DI is a red crest with a white maple leaf at center framing the Capitol dome. There are also seven fleur-de-lis, a scorpion and a Knight's cross on the crest, and it reads THE FIRST DEFENDERS.
VINTAGE:Circa World War II era.
SIZE:1-3/16" height and 1-1/16" width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Gold-plated brass with enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical pin with drop-in locking swivel catch.
MARKINGS:S. E. EBY CO. PHILA.
