ARTIFACT: This is a dated 1917 Model 1894 United States Army bugle by F&S of Chicago. This small, triple-twist bugle is often called the "trench" bugle, although its use was necessarily restricted on the front lines. This model, although issued to infantry, was also used by cavalry units. The bugle has a nice clear maker mark, date and specification stamp on the bell.

VINTAGE: Circa 1917 (World War I).

SIZE: Approximately 9-3/4" in length and 5-1/2" in height and 3-5/8" bell diameter.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Brass.

ATTACHMENT: Loop on mouthpiece.

MARKINGS: F. & S. CHICAGO SPEC. 1152 8-28, 17.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a United States Army collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. KEZAR VGEX12 LAGEX4/12

CONDITION: 7 (Very Fine): The bugle has some small spots of oxidation, light age darkening and a few minor dents: overall it is in very good condition.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
