ARTIFACT:

Cool Korean War Era USS Essex CV-9 aluminum ashtray made at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard commemorating the reconstruction that took place there 1949 - 1951 to ready the ship for Korean War Service. The ashtray features raised lettering that reads: "USS ESSEX CV-9 CONVERTED PSNS 1949 - 51"

VINTAGE:

Circa Korean War Era.

SIZE:

Approximately 5-1/2" in diameter.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Aluminum.
