ARTIFACT: This is a Classic, Iconic, World War II Switlik Parachute Company "Caterpillar Club" pin by Metal Arts Co. The pin is in the shape of a caterpillar and reads: "CATERPILLAR CLUB" against a black enamel background. The reverse shows a maker's mark that reads: "METAL ARTS CO. ROCH, N.Y." The "Caterpillar Club" is a designation given to those US airmen who were forced to bail out of a compromised aircraft and were saved because they were wearing a successfully operational parachute.

VINTAGE: Circa World War II.

SIZE: Approximately: 1/4" in height (Body) x 1-1/8" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Enameled Sterling.

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal pin with come-under locking catch.

MARKINGS: METAL ARTS CO. ROCH, N.Y. STERLING

ITEM NOTES: This is from a USAAF collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. PBJJM18 LDGEX05/03/25

CONDITION: 9- (Excellent+): The pin shows minor wear, much of the enamel details remain intact, overall, it is in excellent condition.
