This is a circa 1970 jacket patch for the United States Coast Guard Cutter Westwind (WAGB-281), IBSEC (Aviation) Detachment 1Westwind was a Wind-Class icebreaker launched on March 31, 194The patch reads GREENLAND SUMMER SURVEYS ARCTIC FAST 70 and shows a black cat and a pair of dice at its center
VINTAGE:Circa 1970.
SIZE:Approximately 5-7/8" in height and 5-1/8" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Fully embroidered with cotton/poly/silk embroidery thread. mesh backing.
ATTACHMENT:To be sewn onto garment.
