ARTIFACT: This is a circa 1965 United States Navy ship lighter for the USS Hooper DE-1026. A destroyer escort, the Hooper was launched August 1 , 1957. The lighter was made in Japan by Konwal. It has an applied enameled insignia on the front that reads Sans Peur (Without fear). It is in excellent condition.

VINTAGE: Circa 1965.

SIZE: Approximately 2-1/4" in height and 1-1/2" in width, and 1/2" in thickness.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Chrome-plated brass, enamel.

ATTACHMENT: Hinge.

MARKINGS: Konwal Super 7 Japan.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a 1960s US Navy ship lighter collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. ebay VAJX14 LGEX5/14 SeVAJJX11/20

CONDITION: 8 (Excellent-): The lighter is in excellent condition with one small spot of wear on the reverse.
