This is a circa mid- to late 1950s United States Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) Operations Directorate lighter made in Japan by Konwal. The lighter has a nice applied enamel shield insignia on one side.
VINTAGE:Circa mid-late 1950s.
SIZE:Approximately 2-1/4" in height and 1-1/2" in width and 1/2" in thickness.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Chrome-plated brass, enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Hinge.
MARKINGS:Konwal Super 4 Japan on bottom.
ITEM NOTES:This is from a 1950s US military lighter collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. ebay VAJX14 LFEX5/14
CONDITION:6 (Fine+): The lighter has some areas of moderate abrasion.
