This is a circa 1945-1946 patch for the United States Army Air Forces 509th Composite Group. This group deployed atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The patch shows lightning bolts and an atomic symbol.
VINTAGE:Circa 1945-1946.
SIZE:4-13/16" height and 4-3/8" width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Blue fully-embroidered patch in multi-colored cotton/silk threads.

CONDITION:7+ (Very Fine+): Patch shows light wear and a small spot of slight discoloration.
