This is a circa 1945-1946 patch for the United States Air Force Alaskan Air Command, which began in 1945 as a first line of defense against air attacks on Canada and the United States. The patch shows a winged star over a constellation.
VINTAGE:Circa post-World War II (1945-1946).
SIZE:About 3" in height x 2-11/16" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Fully embroidered in silk/cotton threads.
ATTACHMENT:To be sewn onto uniform.
MARKINGS:None.
