ARTIFACT:
This is a circa 1960s Alaskan Air Command (AAC) jacket patch for expert proficiency. The AAC began in 1945 as a first line of defense against air attacks on Canada and the United States. The patch shows a star with one wing flying above a constellation of seven smaller stars.
VINTAGE:
Circa 1960s.
SIZE:
Approximately 4" in height and 3" in width.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Twill embroidered in silk/cotton threads, mesh backing.
