ARTIFACT: This is a circa 1940s lapel pin for the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA). The association formed in 1939 in Frederick, Maryland and is still in existence. This pin is by Balfour and would have been worn by a senior member of AOPA.

VINTAGE: Circa 1940s.

SIZE: Approximately 1/4" in height and 9/16" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Gilt brass, enamel.

ATTACHMENT: Single screw post with disc backing.

MARKINGS: L. G. BALFOUR CO. on backing.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a civil aviation collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. RAL92 LCDX7/12

CONDITION: 6- (Fine): The pin shows some damage to the enamel (hard to read AOPA).

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
