ARTIFACT:

This is a lapel pin for the Air Lines Pilot Association, which formed in 1931 to represent the interests of both Canadian and American airlines. The pin is a petite wing with a globe at its center reading ALPA.

VINTAGE:

Circa late 1940's.

SIZE:

Approximately 1/4" in height and 11/16" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Gold-plated brass.

ATTACHMENT:

Post with clutch-back.

MARKINGS:

Union mark; 1/20th 10K; PAT. PEND info on backing.
