ARTIFACT: This is an 1890s ??? early 1900s Western Union hat badge. Western Union was born in 1856, although it had been operating for five years already under the name New York and Mississippi Valley Printing Telegraph Company. The badge has a textured background, is slightly convex and is numbered 93.

VINTAGE: Circa 1890s ??? early 1900s.

SIZE: About 1-1/2" height and 6" width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Painted tin/steel.

ATTACHMENT: One hole at each end for attachment.

CONDITION: 7 (Very Fine): The badge has spots of moderate wear which only seem to lend to its appeal.
