Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a 1970's hat badge for Western Airlines, which began in 1926 as Western Air Express and later merged with Transcontinental to become TWA in 1930. At this time, a portion of the company called Western Air Transport broke away, eventually becoming General Airlines and later WAL (then simply Western Airlines). The badge is a wing with Western's "Flying W" logo at center.

VINTAGE:

Circa 1970's.

SIZE:

1-5/8" height and 2-1/16" width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Plated brass.

ATTACHMENT:

Two screw posts.
