This is a hat badge for the Gordon Highlanders Regiment, a British Army unit formed in 1881 in Scotland. The badge reads BYDAND (steadfast) and shows an antlered stag.
VINTAGE:Circa 1890s.
SIZE:2-5/8" height and 2-5/8" width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Plated brass.
ATTACHMENT:Horizontal T-style pin with "C" catch.
