ARTIFACT: This is a circa 1910s advertising letter opener for Shelby National Tube Company's seamless steel tubing. Shelby's was a Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania manufacturer with a clever advertising angle: the hollow end of the letter opener is an example of their product.

VINTAGE: Circa 1910s.

SIZE: Approximately 8-3/4" in length and 3/4" in width and 5/8" in diameter at the handle end.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Steel.

ATTACHMENT: None.

MARKINGS: None.

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The opener has only some light wear.
