ARTIFACT: Wonderful, circa 1900 DuPont Explosives, Hercules Powder, advertising letter opener in nickeled steel with aluminum slab grips by S.D. Childs Co. in Chicago. The aluminum grips feature images of an explosive, spool of wire/cord, and box that reads: "POWDER CARTRIDGES" and one side that reads: "DUPONT EXPLOSIVES" the opener is engraved with "HERCULES POWDER" on each side.

VINTAGE: Circa 1900

SIZE: Approximately 9 ¼" X 7/8"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Nickeled steel and aluminum

ATTACHMENT: None.

CONDITION: 7- (Very Fine-): Opener shows moderate wear and areas of oxidation, nearly all the nickel plating remains intact.
