ARTIFACT: This is a circa 1900 Railroad mail handler badge from Chicago Union Station, which was a large, independent mail handling center in Chicago. The badge reads C.U.S. 1589 MAIL.

VINTAGE: Circa 1900.

SIZE: Approximately 1-3/4" diameter.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Nickel-plated brass with black painted lettering.

ATTACHMENT: Pinback is broken.

MARKINGS: MEYER & WENTHE 

CHICAGO
