ARTIFACT: This is an unidentified United States Army Air Forces/Air Force squadron or group patch. The patch likely dates between World War II and the Korean War as I have seen it on an A-2 jacket. It may possibly have something to do with the Strategic Air Command's Green Pine Network of Loring Air Force Base, Maine. The patch shows a gauntlet clutching three lightning bolts and there is a border of pine trees along the top of the crest.

VINTAGE: Circa World War II - Korean War.

SIZE: Approximately 4-7/8" in diameter.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Wool felt embroidered in cotton/polyester threads, mesh backing.

ATTACHMENT: None.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from an accumulation of unidentified items which we will be listing more of over the next few months. Item will not be sold until it is identified. VBEL99 LX12/12

CONDITION: 8 (Excellent-): The patch shows only very light wear.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
