ARTIFACT:
This is an unidentified postal-related French belt buckle of unknown vintage. The buckle is a pair of two discs bearing post horns that join in the middle by a two-headed serpent. There is a maker's mark on the reverse of the serpent. C'est un boucle de ceinture inconnu postal français du millésime inconnu. La boucle est une paire de deux disques portant des cornes de poste qui joignent au milieu par un serpent à deux têtes. Il est la marque de fabricant sur le revers du serpent.
VINTAGE:
Circa unknown. Vintage inconnus.
SIZE:
Approximately 2-3/8" in height and 6-1/2" in width. Environ 6 cm de 16.5 cm.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Plated brass. Laiton plaqué.
ATTACHMENT:
Buckles, loops and joiner. Boucles, anneaux et menuisier.
