This is an unidentified Belgian postal medal by A. (Auguste) De Wever, a Dutch artist in metal who lived from 1836-1910. The badge reads BRUXELLES KERMESSES (Brussels fairs) on one side and A LA STE L'UNION POSTALE 27 MAI 1397.
VINTAGE:Circa 19th century.
SIZE:Approximately 1-15/16" in diameter.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Silver.
ATTACHMENT:Suspension ring.
MARKINGS:A. DE WEVER.
ITEM NOTES:This is from an unidentified collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. Item will not be sold until it is identified. LX1/12
CONDITION:7+ (Very Fine+): The medal shows some light wear and has a handsome tarnish.
