This is an unidentified postal badge from the town of Mons, a French-speaking Walloon city in southern Belgium. The badge is a decorative medallion with a Brussels maker's mark (A. FONSON). The badge reads UNION POSTALE D'ARRONDISSEMENT DE MONS INAUGURATION DE DRAPEAU 20 JUIN 1897 (Postal Union of the Borough of Mons Inauguration of the Flag June 20 1897). Ceci est un badge non identifiés postal de la ville de Mons, une ville wallonne de langue française dans le sud de la Belgique. Le badge est un médaillon décoré a marquer un fabricant de Bruxelles (A. FONSON). Le badge lit UNION POSTALE D'ARRONDISSEMENT DE MONS INAUGURATION DE DRAPEAU 20 JUIN 1897.

Approximately 3-1/4" in height and 2" in width and 3/16" in thickness. Environ 8.3 cm par 5 cm par 0.5 cm.
