Beautiful WWI US Air Service (USAS) Pilot Wing in Unusual, Elegant, & Long Style

Beautiful WWI United States Air Service (USAS) pilot wing in an unusual, elegant, and long style - similar to a Link produced wing, but markedly different. This is only the 2nd one I've owned. The center of the wing features a US Shield showing 13 raised stars with nicely detailed vertical stripes below and reads "U.S." in 14K gold. The US Shield is centered between wings with beautiful feather detail.

Circa World War I.

Approximately 11/16" height and 3-1/4" width.

Sterling silver with 14K gold "U.S." on sheild.

Horizontal pin with come-under locking swivel catch (catch and hinge appear to have been a period repair/replacement: this wing saw some action!!).
