Description
This is an unidentified circa 1930's - 1940's (possibly) Nursing School Graduation Pin. The badge is a shield with two crossed anchors behind, and reads DUX FEMINA FACTI (A Woman Was Leader of the Exploit). "W" at the top: Wesley College? Wellesley College? Women's Head in front of a Medical / Maltese Cross. There is a small bust of a woman in front of a cross, which may be a likeness of Dido, Queen of Carthage, to whom Virgil referred when he wrote the preceding phrase. The badge is gold-filled on silver.
VINTAGE:Circa 1930's - 1940's.
SIZE:Approximately 1" in height x 1" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Gold-filled on silver, enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical pin with drop-in locking catch.

CONDITION:7+ (Very Fine+): The badge shows some small areas of light to medium wear and tarnish; all enamel is intact.
