ARTIFACT: Beautiful and scarce WWII United States Public Health Service Official overseas cap hat badge by Vanguard in New York. The 10K gold-fill on sterling badge features a standing eagle, wings spread and facing the viewer's left. The eagle stands perched upon a US Shield with 13 stars, behind which shows a crossed anchor and caduceus.

VINTAGE: Circa WWII

SIZE: Approximately: 1 3/16" x 1 ¼"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Gold-fill on sterling, riveted two-piece construction

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal pin with drop in locking catch.

MARKINGS: "1/20 -10K G. F. ON STERLING VANGUARD N.Y."
