Description
This is a beautiful late 1942 shoulder patch for the United States Army Air Forces China Air Task Force (CATF). The patch is Chinese-made in silk with silk embroidery, and is backed in linen. It shows a winged tiger beneath a red and white star. The CATF replaced the 1st American Volunteer Group (aka "Flying Tigers") and was the precursor to the 14th Air Force.
VINTAGE:Circa late 1942.
SIZE:Approximately 2-1/2" in height and 2-9/16" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Silk embroidered in silk thread, linen backing.
