ARTIFACT: Beautiful late 1940's Maine State licensed Ski School Instructor badge in original box by Balfour. The shield shaped enameled badge reads "SKI INSTRUCTOR" along the top within red enamel, the center of the shield depicts an image of the state of Maine in blue enamel on a background of white, and the word: "MAINE" across the center.

VINTAGE: Circa 1940's

SIZE: Approximately 1 ½" x 1 ¼"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Gilt brass, plated brass, enamel, cardboard, velvet cardboard pin card

ATTACHMENT: Vertical pin with drop in swivel locking catch.

MARKINGS: "BALFOUR"

CONDITION: 9- (Excellent+): Badge shows a small flake in the enamel near the top of the state of Maine, might be from manufacturer because overall badge is in excellent condition showing little or no wear.
