Description
This is a nice circa 1940's to 1950's Maine Forest Service Town Warden's Badge. The badge depicts Maine's seal; A deer laying under a tree in the canter with a farmer and sickle on the left and a sailor and anchor on the left. The banner above reads "DIRIGO" which, from Latin, translates to "I Lead." "Dirigo" is the state motto of Maine. Above the banner is a shining five-pointed star
VINTAGE:Circa 1940's - 1950's.
SIZE:Approximately 1-1/2" in height x 1-1/4" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Die stamped copper.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical pin with drop-in locking catch.
