Description
This is a beautiful enameled Victorian era brooch with an image of the famous Tip-Top House on Mount Washington in New Hampshire. Built as a hotel in 1853, the Tip-Top still stands today, although it is no longer a hotel. It is however the oldest surviving building on the windy summit and is believed to be the oldest mountain-top lodging still around. Made of stone from the mountain itself, the Tip-Top House withstood the Great Fire of 1908.
