Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a lovely circa 1890s brooch in enameled sterling silver from Columbia University, the oldest school of higher learning in New York, chartered in 1754 by King George II. The brooch is shaped like a pennant flag and has wonderful rippled effects. It is enameled in white and "Columbia" blue, the school colors. It is marked on reverse with a star-shaped maker mark.

Circa 1890s.

Horizontal T-style pin with C catch.
