ARTIFACT: This is a beautiful circa early 1960s bullion pilot hat badge for JAL (Japan Air Lines). JAL was founded in 1951 by the Japanese government to help revitalize its nation following World War II. The badge shows a pair of doves embroidered in silver and wreathed in gold and also has a small brass crane insignia affixed to it.

VINTAGE: Circa early 1960s.

SIZE: Approximately 2-11/16" x 3-3/4"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Cotton embroidered in bullion thread, gilt brass, treated paper backing.

ATTACHMENT: Single screw post with disc backing, stabilization post.

MARKINGS: None.

CONDITION: 8 (Excellent-): The badge shows virtually no wear and just some minor tarnish to the brass.
