ARTIFACT:

This is a Beautiful 1920's Los Angeles County Road Department Deputy Sheriff Badge #38 by Chipron. 

This badge is a beauty. Mid-late 20's, in great condition. 

These were the deputies who guarded the chain gangs working on the roads.

Again, from the Rich Salchunas Collection 

I love this Chipron maker mark: hard to tell from the image, but the letters are actually raised, not stamped in. 

VINTAGE:

Mid-late 20s.

SIZE:

Approximately 2-5/8" in height x 2-1/4" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Brass.

ATTACHMENT:

Vertical pin with tang-style 'C' catch.

MARKINGS:
