Description
This is a beautiful circa 1900 nursing graduation pin in enameled 14 karat gold for the Massachusetts Homeopathic Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. The hospital opened in 1871 in Jamaica Plain (later moving to South Boston) and carried out homeopathic treatments until its merger with the Massachusetts Memorial Hospitals system in 192The pin is shaped like a cross and has a maker mark on reverse showing an "A" over a large Turkish-style sword. It is in excellent condition.
VINTAGE:Circa 1900.
SIZE:Approximately 11/16" square.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Enamel, 14 karat gold.
ATTACHMENT:Horizontal T-style pin with Tiffany-style catch.
MARKINGS:14K, "A" with sword maker mark on reverse; 14K on clasp.
