ARTIFACT: This is a rare hardcover copy of the book entitled: "The 388th at War". The book is a World War II unit history of the United States Army Air Forces 388th Bombardment Group (Heavy), and this copy is signed by author Edward J. Huntzinger on the title page. The book has many photographs, a few of them very graphic aftermath shots, and is replete with statistics. There is a written and pictoral breakdown for each and every one of the 388th 's 306 combat missions, as well recaps of a few post-war humanitarian missions. The book was published in 1979 by Newsfoto Yearbooks. The book comes with a single separate typewritten page of information added after publication.

VINTAGE: Circa 1979.

SIZE: 272 pages with black and white photographs and charts; approximately 11-3/8" in height and 8-3/4" in width and 7/8" in thickness.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Cloth-bound cover, paper.

ATTACHMENT: Glued binding.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a United States Army Air Forces collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. LBGEX4/13

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The book is in excellent shape with only some light wear to one corner of the front cover; the first few pages have some minor ridged indentations along the edge and the title page has a small, minor stain.
