1st Issue Ca. 1935 NY State Vocational Institution Guard Hat Badge (Now Coxsackie)

This is a circa 1935 first issue guard hat badge for the New York State Vocational Institution. Now known as Coxsackie Correctional Facility, a detention center for male youths aged 16 to 21, the Vocational Institution originally housed some older inmates who were trained for different occupations. The badge is numbered 8.

Circa 1935.

Approximately 2-7/16" in height and 1-3/4" in width.

Gold-plated brass, blue enamel.

Single screw post with washer, stabilization post.
