This is a United States Navy patch for the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN-70). She was launched March 15, 1980 at Newport News, Virginia and in 1983 sailed around the world for her eight-month maiden voyage.
VINTAGE:Circa mid-1980s.
SIZE:Approximately 4-7/8" in diameter.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Fully embroidered in cotton/polyester threads, gauze backing.
ATTACHMENT:None.
MARKINGS:None.
ITEM NOTES:This is from a United States Navy collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. LACX7/12 SACX8/13
CONDITION:8 (Excellent-): The patch shows little wear with one small tear in the backing.
