This is a 1980s dress or winter uniform captain's hat badge for Pakistan International Airlines, which started flying in 1947 under the name of Orient Airways but came into its own as a state-owned airline in 195The badge is embroidered in gold tinsel thread and shows a star over a wing that reads PIA at its center.
VINTAGE:Circa 1980s.
SIZE:Approximately 3-1/16" x 2-5/16"
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Wool felt with tinsel embroidery, cotton, cloth backing.
