ARTIFACT: This is a 1980s dress or winter uniform captain's hat badge for Pakistan International Airlines, which started flying in 1947 under the name of Orient Airways but came into its own as a state-owned airline in 1955. The badge is embroidered in gold tinsel thread and shows a star over a wing that reads PIA at its center.

VINTAGE: Circa 1980s.

SIZE: Approximately 3-1/16" x 2-5/16"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Wool felt with tinsel embroidery, cotton, cloth backing.

ATTACHMENT: None.

MARKINGS: None.
