Circa 1980s Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) Summer Uniform Captain's Hat Badge

This is a 1980s summer uniform captain's hat badge for Pakistan International Airlines, which started flying in 1947 under the name of Orient Airways but came into its own as a state-owned airline in 195The badge is embroidered in bright gold thread and shows a star over a wing that reads PIA at its center.

Wool felt embroidered in silk/cotton threads with cloth backing.
