1970's United Air Lines Pilot Visor Hat Size 7-1/8

1970's United Air Lines pilot visor hat by Superior Uniform Cap Co., Chicago. The hat features gilt brass buttons and an enameled brass hat badge. The hat badge is two-piece construction, felt covered formed leather and a brass, enameled emblem. The center is a red, white (nickel), and blue shield with a propeller behind and reads: "UNITED" in black enamel detail. It is centered between stylized wings and the top shows four stars. A tag inside the hat shows the size 7 1/8 and another reads: "SUPERIOR UNIFORM CAP CO. 205 W. MADISON ST. CHICAGO, ILL 60606"

Wool felt, leather, brass, enamel, gilt brass, vinyl, paper, grommets

Hat badge: Single post with screwback. Hat: to be worn on head.

5 (Very Good - Fine): The hat shows moderate to heavy wear, damage to reverse seam and moth nips along front visor (See photos), much of the enamel and gilt details remain intact.
