Description
This is a 1965 Zippo lighter for the United States Navy destroyer USS Bausell (DD-845), named for Lewis K. Bausell, a Marine killed in action during World War II. The Bausell was commissioned February 7, 1946 and served in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. The lighter shows the insignia for DesRon (Destroyer Squadron) 5: Bausell sailed in the 1966 Far East Cruise with the 5th. She was decommissioned May 30, 1978.
VINTAGE:Circa 1965.
SIZE:Approximately 2-3/16" height and 1-1/2" width and ½" in thickness.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Chrome-plated brass, painted details, nickel insert.
ATTACHMENT:Hinge.
