1960s US Army 8th Aviation Battalion (Avn Bn) DI

This is a 1960s United States Army distinctive insignia for the 8th Aviation Battalion by Meyer. The DI shows a winged boomerang over a Knight's cross and reads TO THE SOUND OF GUNS.

Circa 1960s.

Approximately 1-1/8" in height and 15/16" in width.

Plated brass with enamel.
