ARTIFACT:

This is a circa 1955-1956 Wellington lighter for the United States Army 246th Transport Company (AAM) Army Aviation at Chofu-Sendal, Japan. The reverse of the lighter has an enameled medallion showing a plane flying past a majestic mountain peak.

VINTAGE:

Circa 1955-1956.

SIZE:

Approximately 2-1/4" height and 1-1/2" width and 1/2" thickness.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Chrome-plated brass, brass, enamel.

ATTACHMENT:

Hinge.

MARKINGS:

BOX 1064 WELLINGTON TOKYO JAPAN.
