Description

ARTIFACT: 1952 pint milk bottle from Mount Hermon Boy’s School, scarce institutional bottle. The Mt. Hermon Boy’s School is now Northfield Mount Hermon School (NMH) and is located in Gill, Massachusetts. Originally founded in 1881, the school aimed at offering the best quality education for adolescents without privilege, enrolling the sons of slaves and students from other countries, unheard of in private schools of the time. The front of the bottle reads: “ONE PINT LIQUID MT. HERMON BOY’S SCHOOL MT. HERMON, MASS. REGISTERED SEALED” in embossed lettering, the bottom shows an embossed number “7”.
