Description
This is a stunning 1961 Mt. Carmel Hospital College of Nursing graduation pin in 10 karat gold. Mt. Carmel is in Columbus, Ohio, and was founded in 1903 by the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross. The pin has a Gilbert maker mark and is inscribed on reverse to J.M.E. This style graduation pin was in used from 1906 until 1962, so this is from the next to last year of its issue. It is beautifully enameled and shows a red cross at center encircled by the words SEMPER FIDELIS (always faithful).

ATTACHMENT:Horizontal pin with come-under locking swivel catch.
MARKINGS:JME 1961; 10K GILBERT with lamp maker mark.
