1950's United States Postal Badge from Dallas, Texas #4202

This is a circa 1950s United States Post Office badge from Dallas Texas. The badge depicts a slightly modified version of the symbol that the Post Office used in the 1880s: a postal carrier riding swiftly on horseback. Badge reads "POST OFFICE DEPARTMENT / UNITED STATES OF AMERICA DALLAS".

Circa 1950s.

1-1/2" height and 1-1/2" width.

Brass with blue enamel paint.

Horizontal pin with missing swivel catch.

4202 stamped on front; U.S. GOVERNMENT PROPERTY / IF FOUND DROP IN MAILBOX on reverse.

6+ (Fine-Very Fine): Badge shows no wear on enameled area and moderate wear on its face. Reverse has slight tarnishing and the pin catch is missing.
