1950s New York State Railway Long Island Railroad Detective and Mini Badges

This is a 1950s New York State Railway Long Island Rail Road detective and mini badge. The large badge reads STATE RAILWAY L.I.R.R. POLICE DETECTIVE 423 and shows the State of New York seal at center. The mini badge reads STATE RAILWAY LIRR POLICE 435 N.Y. and also shows the State of New York seal at center.

Circa 1950s.

Detective badge: 2-11/16" height and 2-3/16" width; mini badge: 1-1/8" height and 15/16" width.

Detective badge: gold-plated brass with blue enamel and painted lettering; mini badge: plated brass with painted lettering.

Both badges have vertical pin with drop-in locking swivel catches.

7+ (Very Fine+): Detective badge shows less wear than the mini but overall they are in very fine condition.
