This is a beautifully enameled 1950s stewardess wing for Mohawk Airlines in sterling silver by Balfour. Begun as Robinson Airlines, the airline had a name change to Mohawk in 1952, and was later absorbed into Allegheny Airlines in 197The pin is a Native American in profile with his headdress out behind him like a wing.
VINTAGE:Circa 1950s.
SIZE:Approximately 15/16" in height and 2-7/16" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Sterling silver with enamel, brass catches.
ATTACHMENT:Two posts with clutch-back catches.
MARKINGS:LGB (Balfour) STERLING.
